The 24-plait bullwhip pictured not only won the Perth Royal (I've won this event every year since 1990) it won the best exhibit title for all the leather work classes. This is not the first time this has happened and hopefully not the last. This is what the judge said "A beautiful whip, with great plaiting". This is what was said when the whip arrived at it's new home..."Gobsmacked. Exceptional work mate - even by your standards. Great debate over whether last years Perth whip is equal to it. I did defend the honour of my whip - pointed out the "classical" braiding patterns on the handle etc - but then again, not having that second handle knot, and the length at 7 ft with still no discernable strand drops .......... hard act to follow. Still - I love mine, and he loves his - and that's what it's all about. Two of the best whips in the world - sitting on the same table - priceless."
You can choose between either a 2-toned 24-plait bullwhip priced at $AUD1450 and a 2-toned, or 3-toned 24-plait stockwhip priced at $AUD1950. I only make these whips to enter the Sydney, Melbourne and Perth Royal Show plaiting competitions. Once they've been entered, judged and released the whip is then sent to you, it's new owner.
