Christmas is coming::
This beautiful 6ft black
and yellow 12 x16pl stockwhip is a Christmas present for a
customer's daughter. Imagine opening that present on Christmas
day! This time of year I always get a little toey. Christmas is
coming and my order book needs to be cleared. Over the next few
weeks I'll be working extra long hours getting whips made and on
their way. So if you've been waiting a while for your new whip,
that wait is nearly over. And if you're thinking of ordering a
new Murphy whip, better do that now than later.
From the Inbox::
"Good day to you, Mr. Murphy!
She arrived yesterday. The moment I took her out of the bag she
began to speak to me.
First thing I noticed was the weight and my response was
literally, "Wow!". Shortly after this I had a mental image of a
Ferrari or a Lamborghini having done nothing more than idle
since it's creation, she wanted me to stretch her legs ASAP!
Examining it I almost hate to break her in! Mike, you truly have
made for me exactly what I ordered!
Simply the feel of this whip is astonishing. I can sense that
second belly. This whip is like an engorged version of the
bullwhip you made me. I am really looking forward to how she
will break in! The 6ft snake you made for me is like softened
butter at this point. It will be interesting to see how much of
a difference that second belly will have. Well this new addition
of your work has already got me thinking of different design
possibilities for the future. I will send you a follow-up on how
she's breaking in. Won't be until your next fall I'm afraid, but
it is looking like two or three more quality weeks up here until
this season is over.
Thank you, Mike, for your focused attention on the satisfaction
of your customers!!

"Mike, Just a note to let you know that my whip arrived today
(16 Plait - 2 toned - Tan & Black) and it is just the most
beautiful work in my collection so far, the plaiting is very
tight, precise and perfect over every inch. I like the Turks
Head work over the ball of the handle and the pattern you chose
for the grip.
Overall a well made whip in every respect, I will be "Investing"
in more of your whips for my personal collection over the 2012
year, with the economy turning to crap all over the world I
believe that good quality well made whips will be worth more
than the crashing Dollars we all hold, and provide countless
hours of joy over the years owning them.
I look forward to ordering from you again quite soon!"

"Hi Mike, The whip came in yesterday. It's a beautiful little
whip, the braiding is perfect, outstanding quality, it's already
very fluid and it isn't broken in yet. I gave it a light Pecard
leather dressing yesterday evening and have just tried it.
Thanks for the whip, it will be in good hands."

"G'day
Mike, the items in your recent newsletter - and the site itself
- are all extremely professional, many thanks.
Thought you might like the attached picture; you can just see
the whip in the driver's hand or, more accurately, see a section
of the whip draped along the road. I made this shot using an old
glass plate I got from a neighbour years ago who found it in his
Victorian house in Armadale.
I simply placed the glass plate down flat on a square of
developing paper then guessed at the most suitable exposure in
my dark room. I no longer have access to the glass negative and
this is the only image I have. Needless to say, with today's
technology if I still had the glass negative then the results
would be brilliant, ah well! I seem to recall that the load is
supposed to be one of the steel girders going to one of
Melbourne's many beautiful bridges spanning the Yarra River.
Hope it is of interest to you."

"Mike, thanks for the great pink and brandy signalwhip. I've
already received compliments on it. Sometimes when you go with a
colour you never would have thought of, it can turn out to be a
nice surprise. The whip throws great, and is breaking in
beautifully."

Interestingly, a few guys in the Kimberleys are turning to
snakewhips because their stockwhips are, amongst other things,
getting hung up and lost to trees in the heat of cattle
battle...
"Hey Mike, I got my snakewhip about a week ago and its
beautiful. As usual the quality is second to none, it falls well
and cracks easy. Can't wait to put it to work.
