I received my 4 foot AWS snakewhip today. As far as I can tell, it's flawless. Very happy with the build quality. Shot loading and a short length makes this a much livelier whip than my 8ft bullwhip. Shipping from Australia to California took 3 days for 38 bucks ($USD28). Final cost was $AUD178 which is a very reasonable 133 American dollars. Ordering mid Christmas rush created a delay in shipping, but communication was handled well to let me know when to expect delivery. Package contained a catalogue and a shoe polish sized tin of beeswax dressing. I would highly recommend this product, and am considering ordering another to try my hand at 2 handed whip cracking.

2.) Brandy Tan 8 Plait 10Ft Bull Whip - the 10Ft bull is the best I have used, it is accurate Spot-On Target and it looks as 
Great as it handles. 

And Now Last but Definitely NOT Least by Any means 

3.) 2 Tone Red/Black 4 Ft Stock whip - the 4Ft Red/Black Stock Whip also Handles like a dream, it is Fast, Spot-On target, and Smooth action. It's pretty damn amazing, I can get stuff from you quicker than I can get stuff from the next state, and that's only 300 miles away ... We managed to get a few Mins cracking in - it's Winter here, gets dark too early. The whips fly really smoothly my buddy has got the basics going but I'm going to have to work on my timing. They fly so differently to my snakes that I'm getting lots of whooshes but not to many cracks. Anyway ... thanks for everything. I hope to do some more business with you soon,

As I recall, your 16 plait, 6', two-toned, Australian pattern bullwhip left Perth on Monday, arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday and I had it Wednesday
morning. You can't complain with that kind of speed!

Whenever you order something without being able to hold it in your hand first, there's a certain level of trepidation. Especially when it's a type of whip you're not that familiar with. Given how much I love your 4' signal whip and knowing your level of expertise I wasn't that concerned and yet you never really know.

I have to tell you that if you'd been a complete mind reader you could not have created a better whip for me. This is everything I had hoped and wanted it to be. I did have the image in my mind of a bullwhip being more of a heavy club and what you have given me is the most elegant, light, lanky, long, trim, beautifully tapered, flowing, alive and responsive whip I could imagine. There is not one strand out of place and your weaving is so fine
that it could be the result of some beautifully designed computer-generated fractal pattern that repeats itself in smaller and smaller weaves as you
travel the length of the thong. How you manage to do that with such precision over such a length is just beyond me.

So many things stand out about your whips but if I had to pick just the top two, it's your attention to detail which not only shows in the whip but in all your packaging and materials. It's quality all the way. The other top factor is the aliveness and response of the whip. I feel like it's telling me exactly where it is at all times and I'm still a novice at these things.

What I had heard about but still surprised me was how slowly the whip unwinds itself. It's like watching an ocean wave travel lazily to the shore. As much as I love my signal whip from you, I wish I'd have started with the bullwhip. It's everything I wanted it to be.

You were right to recommend to me the Australian pattern bullwhip. The 12" handle length fits my style very well and I'm very happy that the saddle tan colour was dark enough to blend so well with the black. It's a very rich looking and harmonious combination. I had also wondered if the 6' length
would be enough but you're correct that the length of the fall and popper extend it out to 8' and for the relatively smaller area I have that fits just right.

This whip will keep me happy for a very long time and I wish I'd have known that a bullwhip was what I'd been wanting all along. I don't know what it is yet but I have to say I'll be ordering something else from you at some point because when you come across something of such quality you want to take advantage of it and include it in your life.

I received my whip which I had been anticipating for many months after all my research before ordering from Michael Murphy. I opened the box and there before me was a work of art that was far more beautiful than I had ever expected. Having not seen a Murphy whip before opening this box, I felt honoured to be the new owner of this eight foot, sixteen plait saddle tan and jade green two toned bullwhip. I have been practicing almost daily (weather permitting) and have improved so much simply by owning and using a Murphy whip. I have been keeping in touch with Mike and he has given me some invaluable tips to help me along. I also purchased the whip maintenance DVD and the Fundamental Whip Cracking techniques DVD. I have developed my whip cracking techniques in no time thanks to Mike's lessons. I hope I become a whip cracking expert worthy enough of owning one of Mike's whips. I will be saving my pennies for another whip in the not too distant future.

Mike - Hi, 

I was just looking at the testimonials on your site so I thought I would send you one. I have been collecting and using whips for close to 50 years and have over 100 whips in my collection and my favourites by far are the ones that you made for me. None of the others come close to the plaiting job done in both single colour and two tone. The seams are as straight as an arrow and do not twist and turn as on many of my other whips by well known Makers. When a student or friend wants a whip I only recommend your whips to them and after seeing them they usually agree. Thanks Mike and I will order a new whip in the near future. The out-takes on 'No Bull Whipcracking' Video are very entertaining! The routines look great! Some of them look impossible! I suppose practice makes perfect though.
